Sea otter decline population
The reading and the lecture are both about the decling population of the sea otter. Whereas the the author of the reading states that the number of sea otter declined becuse of the pollution. The lecturer suggests that the reason of this decline is the preditor.
First of all, according to the reading, there are oil rigs and other sources in the alaskan coast that couse pollution. However, the lecturer disputes this point. She says that the orces his deit was eating whales until the human hunt the whales in that aera which leaves no other choise for orces exept eating sea mammals.
Secondlyy, The reading stated that other sea mammals also declined which means that both sea mammals and sea otter facing the same life-threateing cause. Nevertheless, the lecturer refutes this argument. She argues that the preditor has to change his deit in order to servive since the whale are hunted by human.
Finally, the reading claims that the comunty thinks that the pollution explains the uneven pattern of otter decline. On the other hand, the lecturer belive that there is some areas the population is not affected because it is hard to reach by orces the preditor.
