The bar chart reveals how people in different age groups used various forms of media to access information and daily news in a particular country in 2011. There are three different categories which are microblogging, radio, and social networks.
Overall, from the age of 18 to 65+, people mostly used radio as their main sources to read the news while teenagers from 10 to 17 years old would prefer social networks but the percentage of this media method decreased from the young age to the older one. Moreover, micro blogging accounted for the lowest percentages of people used to get daily news.
In detail, 95% of people using radio to get the news in 2011 in three age groups (18 to 29, 30 to 49 and 50 to 64 years old) and they were followed by social network and radio respectively, there was also a slight decrease in that of radio’s listeners in the age group of 65+. Another striking feature was that the social networks became less popular from young adults to elderly people, which accounted for 80% in the group of 10-to-17s and ended up with a negligible 10% in the age of 65+, was also one eighth of the proportion of the former one.
