You recently went to a public event (for example an exhibition, festival, or show) that you think your friend would enjoy. Write a letter to friend.
In your letter:
tell your friend what the event was
explain why you think your friend would like the event
invite them to come to the event with you
Dear John,
I hope you're doing good and how're Pam and little Amy? I'm writing to tell you about an event that I've recently attended and I'd like to invite you all to the next event.
As for the event, I went to a cultural festival at Rose Garden with Malvika last week. Our college's student union organizes this event every month. When I went there, first there was a folk dance performance by young artists and then different sections for traditional clothes, authentic food and some handcrafted household items. Apart from these, a fun-filled camel ride for every age group was a new addition this time.
As far as I know, both of you're big foodies, and this event offers plenty of mouth-watering Asian cuisines to enjoy. In fact, one can bake or cook as a volunteer in one of the stalls for fundraising for cancer patients. This is sort of the same fundraising as we used to do by washing cars during the school volunteers programme. I'm sure you'd like to take part in this activity for such a worthy cause.
Having said that, I'd like to invite all of you to the next month's event. This would also be a wonderful opportunity for young Amy to see the diversity of Indian culture and of course a get-together of both families. I hope you would make it.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
Best wishes,
Ell
