Dear Mr. Thomas
I am writing this letter to explain how affected is our community regarding the closure of the leisure center. Since I was a child this center is been a pillar for the youth in the neighborhood. I would not have become a professional athlete if the center had not existed. It was here where my first football games were played about seventeen years ago. Before this center opens up there was nowhere to go after school to play any sport or take a swim.
After the public swimming pool was closed last winter, people do not have many leisure places to go besides this center. Not having a place to go to practice sports after classes could be harmful to our teenager's future and could drive them into bad steps. The city won three state championships over the last ten years. Nowadays the children have a place to go and closing it would have a negative impact if the center closing continues.
