The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagrams illustrate distinctly steps of making cement with supporting equipment and the production of concrete from cement, which used in construction industry.
In general, cement production experienced complicated process which appears to be composed of seven steps, whereas the concrete-making consists of just two stages.
Looking at the details of the first production, initially, an amount of limestone and clay are put into a crusher at the same time, by which these two materials are turned into powder. After that, powder goes into a mixer where it is blended altogether then the substance runs through the rotating heater. At this point, fire is used as the source of the heater, which burns the mix-substance to an appropriate temperature. Following this, a grinder is responsible of crushing the outcome of the rotating heater and producing cement. The process end when cement is packaged in bags which are ready to be used.
As the concrete-making process, cement along with water, sand and gravel are applied with proportion of 15 % - 10% - 25 % and 50% respectively. These stuffs enter a big mixer which rotates clockwise in order to combine altogether and the process is completed.
