Internet users as a percentage of population 1999 - 2009
The line graph shows the percentage of people who had access to the Internet in three countries from 1999 to 2009.
It is clear that the Internet users in three countries increased significantly. Both the United States and Canada have a large percentage of Internet users compared to Mexico while Canada experiences the fastest growth in Internet usage.
In 1999, The figures for Internet usage in the USA are the highest at 20%. The percentage of people who had access to the Internet in both Canada and Mexico was around 10% and 5% respectively. In 2005, over 70% of people in Canada and the USA had access to the Internet while nearly 30% of Mexicans went online.
By 2009, the growth in Internet usage was highest in Canada with almost 100% of the population, in comparison with around 80% of Americans and about 40% of Mexicans.
