The pie charts illustrate some methods of catching up with the news in Canada and Australia
Overall, the news showed online and on television are the most popular in Canada and Australia. While the gap between them is not really substantial in Canada, Australia witnesses the contrast. On the other hand, the method of accessing news referred as “ not specified “ is used by the least number of people living in these countries.
To begin with, online news accounts for more than half of the news read in Australia ( 52% ), while this figure in Canada is relatively lower with 36%. However, when it comes to TV news, it is watched by 40% of Canadians and 3% lower than that in Australia. Also, the “not specified” news is not really advocated in these nations when it is merely accessed with 2% and 3% of Canadians and Australians respectively
Print news is preferred more by Canadian people when 14% of them choosing to read newspapers, while the figure for Australians is only half of that ( 7% ), which is even with the proportion of radio news listened in Canada. Furthermore, this is also an uncommon way of acquiring news in Australia, when it is reported with the same percentage of “ not specified “ version with 2%
