the maps below show the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010
The pictures illustrate how the village called Stokeford had been renovated from 1930 to 2010
Overall, it is apparent that farmland accounted for most of the village as well as few houses were built in Stokeford in 1930. However, throughout a period of 80 years, this village became a more modernized and residential area
In 1930, most of the land in Stokeford was for the purpose of farming and there was a river called Stoke running through the village and crossed by a north situated to the north of it. In the middle of the map, there was a large house surrounded by gardens and adjacent to a primary school in the north. There were shops and a post office built nearby houses, which were opposite the primary school and separated by a road
By 2010, there had been many significant alterations taking place in this village, while the river Stoke, the bridge, and the post office remained unchanged. All of the farmland was removed in order to make more space for new houses. The central gardens and the large house were knocked down to make way for a retirement home, the primary school was expanded and shops were demolished. Remarkably was the number of houses, which increased considerably and were built alongside roads all over the village. There were also many shifts in the village's infrastructure when there were many new roads merging with the main one to the north along with a new square-shaped road which was added in the center of the site
