The charts show school expenditure and the proportion of students who gained higher education diplomas and degrees in Singapore from 2000 to 2012
The bar chart gives information about the total amount of money invest in students’ schooling in terms of boys and girls. The pie chart compares the number of learners in higher education who gained diplomas and degrees in Singapore in the years of 2000 and 2012.
Overall, total school spending showed an upward trend over the given period. In addition, a sharply high proportion of students were rewarded diplomas in comparison with those gaining degrees in the specified country.
It can be seen that around 9 million dollars was spent on schooling boy at the beginning of the period. The figure continuously rose to reach to $20 and nearly &26 million respectively by 2004 and 2008. After that, spending hit over &30 million in 2012. Whereas, the figures of the opposite sex-gender presented lower expenses. In 2000, with $7 million paying for schools, however, spending on girls’ school saw a slightly increase, reaching a peak of $20 million in 2012.
It can be noticeable, there was a steadily growth in the proportion of learners who were rewarded degrees with respect to higher education. The percentage increased from 0.27% in 2000 to 0.32% in 2012. By contrast, the number of diplomas rewarded for students decreased slightly by 5% in 2012.
