The presented bar graph illustrates the comparisons among 5 countries about immigrants to Australia in three years 1962, 1982 and 2002.
Overall, the percentage of immigrants to Australia from Italy experienced the most noticeable decrease during the survey period. It is also noted that while the figure for UK, India, Vietnam increased relatively, others experienced an opposite trend.
In 1962, the proportion of people from Italy who lived in Australia occupied the highest place in the graph with about 40%. The next position belongs to the ratio of UK and Vietnam with about 10%, slightly higher than that of New Zealand with roughly 5%-10%. Simultaneously, the rate of India ranked bottom the graph with approximately 2%.
In 2002, although a dramatic reduction happened to the ratio of residents from Italy immigrating to Australia, it still remained the highest situation in the list with 15%. Meanwhile, the opposite trend was true with the figure for India with nearly 15%, 10% higher in 1962. It can be seen that after a fluctuation, the information of both UK and Vietnam took the third place with over 10%. In addition, the data of New Zealand witnessed a considerable decline by 3% to 5%, bottomed the lowest place in the chart.
