The reading passage and the lecture are both talking about declination of bird population in United States. The writer claims three reasons beyond this declination. However, the lecturer contradicts these reasons. She thinks, each reason is mentioned in reading passage is inconvenience.
To begin with, the author states increase in human population as a one reason of decrease in number of birds. This is mainly because, these population need more houses which are built and birds habitats disappear. This statement is challenged by professor. She mentions, not all types of birds decrease by building. Some types of birds increase like bengiuns and other types. Therefore, this reason is not convineince because, some population of bird which are increased can be as a food sources to other types of birds. As a result, this argument is inconvenience.
In addition. the author asserts, increase in agriculcure will destroy birds habitats. these agricultcurs need more land to grow crops. The professor refutes this notion. She says, increase of agrticultcure is done by increase growind of valuable crops without increase in land which is used to grow these crops. So thid statement is not correct.
Finally, the author presents pesticides which are used in agriculture spread in food and water of birds. Birds wil, dye after eat or drinks these contamenated food and drink water or decrease in rate of reproduction will happen. The lecturer has a different point of view. She illustrates to new types of pesticides which do not harm to birds.
