The illustration depicts a layout of today landfill in which household waste is discharged.
Overall, there are three main stages attached with separate designs. Beginning with construction and end up with closure
Initially, people dig up the ground in order to create a hole, which is right above the natural rock. Afterward, many infrastructures are erected including synthetic substance and clay, bordering the edge of that hole. Moreover, pipes and a tank for drainage are also added up just above the surface of the hole
After the step of building the infrastructure, this landfill commences to be filled with domestic garbage, with waste in liquid form in the drainage tank. Finally, the hole would be closed by clay, leaving a space inside it and new pipes are also attached right next to the old ones, which allow gases to be released to the environment
