In 1980, 40% of men in Australia were overweight and this figure rose by 18% in 1990. It is also noticeable that the proportion of overweight males reached a peak of about 65% in 2000, it then drops slightly to 60%.
Turn to the remaining genders, we can see that the figure of overweight Australian females lower than that of overweight males. The percentage of overweight women over the 10-year period, from 30% in 1980 to 45% in 1990. In 2000, 50% of women in Australia were overweight and remained almost unchanged.
