The charts in question represent two types of data one pertaining to the number of crime reports of three types of crimes - theft, noise and traffic violations while the other graph is representative of the average temperatures recorded in each month , in 2016 of the city of Johnstown.
As per the graphical report, it is evident that traffic violations are most common police report all through the year with the months of January, February and March registering the maximum cases. Although on a closer look, a downward trend in the cases of traffic violations is observed, from with the months of July, August and September recording the lowest cases under 150 . But again in the post-September months an upward trend in the violation cases is observed. The graph shows a constant trend for complaints regarding noise. Unlike, traffic violation cases, the theft reports show an upward rise in the first six months(from 20 to 50 ) of 2016 , but suddenly booms in the next three months to reach nearly 140 by September but thievery reports plummet in the months following September to drop to 55. Also in the time period of July-September The graph pertaining to the average monthly temperature also shows a trend quite similar to the graphical pattern of theft cases. We observe a continuous rise in temperature from the coldest month of January (3 degrees) which attains the maximum in July and plummets thereafter.
So as per graphical data, we can see that thefts are more on the rise during the peak summer months , while traffic violation cases remain a high all year round.
