The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different
countries in 2002.
The given table compares the budget people in five nations spending on three categories of products and services in 2002
Overall, it is apparent that the most significant incomes of all countries were used for food, drink, and tobacco and the least for pastime and education.
In terms of food, drinks, and tobacco, the percentage of consumer expenditure in Turkey was the highest, at 32,14%. The figures for Ireland, Spain, and Italy were lower, at 28,91%, 18,80%, and 16,36%, respectively. However, the amount of money spent by the Swedish accounted for the lowest proportion, at only nearly 16%.
Regarding clothing and footwear, the Italians spent 9% of their incomes compared to only 5,40% used by the Swedish. The figures of the remaining nations were around 6%. In addition, the proportion of spending on leisure and education of Turkey citizens was 4,35%. At the same time, around 3% of Italian and Swedish incomes was paid on recreation and teaching services, and only approximately 2% of the budget of people in Ireland and Spain fell into this category.
