It is apparent that the number of rubbery cases was the lowest during the research period. Meanwhile, the figure for car theft experienced the most dramatic change.
In 2003, the quantity of burglary cases was highest, at nearly 3500 cases, whereas the figure for car theft was slightly lower, at around 2700 incidents. In the same year, only 600 robbery incidents were recorded in Newport city. Noticeably, in 2008 the rate of three crimes all went down, when the number of burglary and robbery cases hit the bottom at 900 and 500 respectively.
In 2012, the rate of burglary decreased significantly to 1400 cases. At the same time, the figures for car theft and robbery remained stable compared to the first research year, at approximately 2800 and 600 cases respectively.
