The graphs below show the types of music albums purchased by people in Britain according to sex and age.
The graph gives information about the consumption of various music albums based on gender and age in Britain.
Looking from an overall perspective, Rock and Pop were the top two famous markets, and both showed an equivalent in their statistics. Males tend to be more interested in buying music albums than their counterparts, and people were less involved in the market when surpassing 34 years old.
Regarding Pop and Rock music, the proportions of males purchase those albums were 28%, females' figures were 10% lower. In both kinds of music, the group 24-34 years, which accounted for nearly 30%, followed by group 16-24 years at a negligible distance. From the age of 34 above, the percentage of people who bought Pop and Rock music witnessed a drop by 10% and kept falling in 45 years plus range to bottom at 5%.
Turning to Classical music, the figure for men was still higher than women at 9% and 7%, respectively. This type of music was not too attractive to age groups 16-24 and 35-44 citizens with less than 3%. Also noteworthy is the fact that the people in the 25-34 age range participated remarkably in the market with 15%, just 5% lower than group 45+. That proved that not only the elderly were interested in Classical music.
