The bar chart highlights the data about the number of males and females who participated in fitness membership in Thailand from 1985 to 2015.
It can be seen that the number of female fitness members was increased over the period but this number decreased for male ones. Overall, the year 2010 witnessed a considerable rise in both the number of male and female fitness members.
In 1985, the number of male members who participated in fitness was much higher than female ones with approximately 2200 and 1300 members, respectively. Over the next six years, both the proportion of men and women went up and down significantly. In 1990, male fitness members number increased to nearly 4000 which was double compared to the 1985's total male number. The fitness female members also rose this year and reached about 2000. Notwithstanding, there was a substantial decrease in the number of men in 1995 at around 2500 members while the number of females fell slightly in the same year.
According to survey data, the year 2000 witnessed a moderate rise in the number of women fitness members and the figure was much higher than total men number. The proportion of men involved in fitness membership was nearly the same as that of female ones. Although men's fitness members reached a peak at 5000, the data plummeted in 2015, and female members were twice as high as male ones.
