The line graph given illustrates the number of cars per household in Britain over 40 years starting from 1990.
It is evident that one car and two or more cars ownership in Britain increased despite fluctuation, the opposite was true for no-car household. Also, no-car ownership experienced the biggest change in the period shown.
In 1990, the figure for no-car ownership was the highest in Britain with over 50% while the percentage of one-car and two-or-more-cars household was over 30% and 10% respectively. After 15 years, there was a significant decrease of 10% in the proportion of no-car ownership, while that of one-car household substantially increased by over 20%. At the same time, the percentage of two-or-more-cars ownership slightly declined after a small fluctuation.
In 2030, the one-car household is expected to be the least common type. In stark contrast, there was an upward trend in the number for one-car ownership, which is as similar as the estimated figure for two or more cars ownership.
