The table provides information about the percentage of income that is spent on categories named food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment in five major countries in Europe.
It is clear that the lowest percentage of income is spent on clothing in all countries except Turkey, which people paid the least amount of money on entertainment. In more than half of the countries, people spend much more on housing than anything else.
The residents in Turkey and Spain allocate the most proportion of their salary on food and drink, which is 36% and 31% respectively. However, the most expenditure in France, Germany and UK is related to the house. British people pay 37% of their money on housing that is 6% more than France and 4% more than Germany.
Germany’s citizens tend to buy clothes more than others and 15% of their salary is used for purchasing clothes which is nearly two times more than in France and Spain. The German pay more money on hobbies than other countries. They use 19% of their monthly income, while Turkish residents just utilize 10%.
