The charts below give information on the ages of the populations of Yemen and Italy in 2000 and projections for 2050.
The pie charts show the share of 3 age groups in Yemen and Italy in 2000 and their expectations in 2050. Overall, Yemen had a younger population than Italy in 2000 and both countries will become older in 2050.
According to Yemen’s pie charts, the youngest group accounted for more than half, but the share will decrease by 13% and will rank second in 2050. The middle age group share ranked the second and is expected to reach the top proportion in 2050, while the oldest group remains in the minority by less than 6%.
Italy’s charts depict that 15 to 59 years old obtained two-third of the population. Although the share of this group would decrease by 15%, it will remain the first rank. The oldest group will change the most by increasing almost 18%; however, it fails to achieve the majority. The youngest age profile will remain between 11% to 15% during 50 years.
