Given is the bar chart depicting five distinct reasons why Americans travel, while the pie chart delineates six prime problems related to traveling in the public in the year 2009.
It is conspicuous that commuting to and from work was the principal reason for travel in the US and the most concerning issue was the cost of taking trips.
When it comes to the bar chart, nearly half of American passengers opted to travel regarding their employment. Additionally, this percentage was so far higher than the figures for journeys with shopping and personal purposes, at 16% and 19% respectively. Meanwhile, only one-tenth of trips in total were contributed to social and recreation reasons. Perceptibly, visiting friends or relatives took the bottom purposes for traveling with 6%.
Turning to the pie chart, 36% of American travelers worried about the price of making journeys which were close to twofold higher than safety concerns. Moreover, the third and four primary traveling problems belonged to aggressive drivers and highway traffic jams with 17% and 14% respectively. By contrast, only 8% of passengers made anxious about access to public transport. Eventually, the least proportion of traveling issues was space for pedestrians with 6% in the US.
