The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

The line graph compares the amounts of fish and other three different meat consumed in a European country in the years 1979 and 2004.

It is clear that chicken was by far the most popular meat over the period shown. Fish was the least consumed meat in each year.

In 1979, beef was consumed most with around 220 grams per person per week. Lamb and chicken were eaten weekly at a rate of just under 150 grams per person, and fish was the least favorite meat with weekly consumption of only 60 grams per person. However, after 10 years, specifically in 1989, chicken overtook beef as the most liked meat.

In 2004, the consumption of chicken rose dramatically to a high of 250 grams per person per week. By contrast, the amount of beef and lamb eaten weekly by an average person fell substantially to nearly 120 grams and 70 grams, respectively. However, the figure for fish remained relatively stable at between 45 and 55 grams for the whole 25-year period.
