Both charts showed the data of applicants who participated in the Olympic games from 1924 to 2012.
The bar chart compared the quantity of male and female athletes involved in the Olympics from 1924 to 2012. The line graph, meanwhile, showed the highest figure for contestants during four periods.
According to the chart, it is easy to see that men taking part in the Olympics was consistently higher than women. Since 1924, men have significantly reached a peak of 1,000 people per year, which achieved the highest value with 6,000 contestants in 2012. Whilst, the number of female participants increased steadily to 1984, to 1,500 people, and witnessed a dramatic rocket to approximately 5, 000 members until 2012.
The line graph, on the other hand, had quite the same trend as the bar graph. Since 1924, the number of applicants had gradually risen by 2,000 people in each year and climbed to more than 3,000 members in 2012. This data had tripled compared to 1924.
In conclusion, both charts showed data on the Olympics athlete numbers during four periods. There was a big change between male and female participants, especially among women, while most partakers took part in the Olympics in 2012.
