In today’s society, overpopulation is one of the most serious issues, especially in urban areas or metropolitan areas. The effects of the burgeoning population are accelerating alarmingly, and thus, the authorities and civilians need to take steps to alleviate this challenge.
Firstly, overpopulation can lead to overcrowding so that the inhabitants do not have enough resources for fundamental needs such as accommodations, food, and social welfare….. Another problem that we cannot ignore is that High population densities and low quality of life can result in a higher risk of disasters and pandemics—for example, the covid-19, a global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019. spread rapidly and posed a serious threat to the lives of all inhabitants all over the world because of the poor condition of life and the high population density terrible disasters could cause numerous adverse effects not only on people’s health but also on the economy.
Since such challenges are serious, the government should immediately take steps to address these problems. The authorities have the power to make an investment shift to infrastructures such as building broad roads and enhancing healthcare services and education systems. Moreover, they should industrialize the rural areas in order to provide people residing in the village with more opportunities for jobs. Thus it can reduce people who migrate to cities in search of a better life.
Fortunately, several measures could also be taken by individuals to alleviate this problem. Each family should have one to two children to reduce the size of the urban population. Moreover, parents who have a profound impact on their offspring’s development should help their children to gain a deeper insight into sex education, which is an important measure to control the birth rate in the future.
In conclusion, the need of the hour is to focus on changing the mindset of people because the threat presented by the problem of overpopulation to economic progress and our environment is inevitable.
