The line graph illustrates the change in the population of visitors to a particular Caribbean island from 2010 to 2017.
Overall, the total number of tourists increased over the period of 7 years. Although there were more visitors staying on island than those on cruise ships at the start of the period, the figures became opposite at the last year.
In 2010, total 1 million tourists visited the island. Among them, only around 0.75 million stayed on island, and the rest (about 0.25 million) just stayed on cruise ships. Until the late 2015, tourists who stayed on island outnumbered those on cruise ships.
At the end of the period, the total population of tourists rose significantly to 3.5 millions. In particular, there was a dramatic increase in visitors staying on cruise ships to 2 millions, a 1.75 million growth, while those who stayed on island saw a steady rise and the figure became 1.5 millions.
