The diagram shows the design of a modern landfill for household waste.
The diagram shown illustrates the process of creating an advanced container for domestic garbage.
Overall, the linear artificial procedure is a 4-step process that starts with the construction of the hole and finishes with it being sealed. Moreover, several materials and equipment are also added during the process.
In the first step, a large hole is formed on the top of a natural rock layer. After that, a layer of clay is added to the bottom with a synthetic substance covering. The next stage involves the installation of a system used for draining wastewater, including a pipe and a tank, thus finishing the erection process.
Subsequently, during the usage period, waste created from household activities is discharged into the container, followed by the waste liquid flowing into the already-dug tank. Finally, the second layer of clay is used to create the sealing of the waste-treatment system while the pipe allows gases to escape from it, ending the process.
