The graph below gives information about fossil fuel energy demand and availability in the country of Freedonia from 1980 to 2060 (projected).
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Illustrated in the given line graph is the changing patterns in Freedonia's fossil fuel energy need and availability over an 80 year period since 1980.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that while fossil fuel energy demand in this country is forecast to increase, its counterpart - energy availability is predicted to fall over the studied period.
In 1980, the energy available in Freedonia was a handsome number of 8 units. This quantity, however, declined marginally to almost 7 units two decades later, yielding a negligible decrease of one unit. Such a drop was more pronounced in the case of energy demand at a whopping 2 billion megajoules in 1990. The figure then experienced a gradual increase to just under 5 units in the next two decades and is predicted to rise to nearly 6 units, which will be the same as energy availability in 2040.
From the chart it can be seen that the fossil fuel available moderately declined until it is predicted to meet the demand in the year 2040. Such a figure is expected to go into a nosedive from 6 units in 2040 to more or less 4.5 units in 2060, making a decrease of 1.5 units in two decades. In contrast, the need for fossil fuel energy is foreseen to still rise until 2060 to nearly 7 billion megajoules.
