The graph below shows changes in young adult unemployment rates in England between 1993 and 2012.
The given line graph illustrates how unemployment rates of people in England changed from 1993 to 2012.
In general, there were an increase in the percentage of citizens aged from 16 to 24 that did not work in England. while the overall unemployment rates in the country examined gradually declined over the period. In addition, the rate of young adult aged from 16 to 24 in London consistently had the highest figures throughout the period.
The proportion of citizens aged from 16 to 24 started at about 22 percent, after which it dramatically dropped to 15 percent in 1996 and 2002 before sharply rising to 25 percent in the final year. Similarly, the figures for all people in the same age range living in the rest of England climbed from about 17 percent up to 20 percent in the 19-year period.
Approximately 14 percent of the overall residents in London were not employed for a job in 1993, which then gradually declined to nearly 10 percent in the year 2012. On the other hand, the figures for the people from every range of age in the rest of England decreased from 10 percent to nearly 5 percent in 2008 before rising to 12 percent one year later and remaining unchangeable till the end of the period.
