Following that was the people away from work in France with roughly 4,7%. After rising a little bit and also surpassing the Netherlands in the first year, the rate of workers with illness absence dropped considerably to exactly 3% in 2001. Ranked at the third was the number of absent workers in Sweden with lower 1,7% in comparison with France. The figure for Sweden first kept stable and then progressed to roughly 4,5% in the last year.
Turning to the other two countries which were at the bottom of the chart. The statistics of people away from work in the UK was roughly 2.7% and also higher than Germany 1,2% in 1991. Surprisingly, both of the countries reached a plateau at 2.7% and 1,5% throughout the period shown respectively.
