The line chart given illustrates the propotion of individuals from dissimilar regions who live in Australia from 1976 to 2011. Categorically speaking, most of the portions experienced an upward trend except for the figure for the UK which underwent a downward trend.
In 1976, the propotions of people coming from the UK and other regions living in Australia were significantly higher than that of Asia, with 14% and 12% as opposed to merely 3% respectively. There were initial increases in both figures for the UK and other regions, with the former dropping to 10% and the latter generally falling to 8% in 1992. Meanwhile, the ratio of the Asian saw a ceiling trend, going up to 6% in 1992.
By contrast, an general increasing trend in both figures for other regions and Asia was recorded, with the former peaking at 14% and the latter leaping to 6% in 2006; both datas then experienced a rise, but the figure for Asia improved faster to 15% in 2011 compared to 13% of that of other regions in 2011. Meanwhile, the figure for the UK continually dived to 5% in 2011. Despite all the fluctuation with a bottomost mark at 2011, occupying 21% in the period of time between 1976 and 2011, the total ratio saw a growth.
