The reading text and lectuer are both about the how to control a cheatgrass, which was invaded the area of North America in earlier time. While the author is proposing the three different sollution to contro a cheatgrasss. On the other hand, lacturer is disputes all these sollution and said that all these way is not working very well in the North America.
To begin with, the author states that, if encourage the grazzing in the field of cheatgrass, the nit would be effective way to control the cheatgrass. In contrast, lacturer said that, cheat grasss is less preferable by the grazzing animal in the grazzing field. Animal is always the give priorities to eat the other grass, which are present in the grazzing field rather than cheatgrass. As a result of that, native plant will disappear quickly than we think, which is totaly opposite effect what we think.
Furthermore, reading text suggests that, burning the cheatgrass field in control fire will reduce the dominancy of the cheat grass over the native grass grass. However, professor posits that, cheat grass produce copious amount of seeds and these seed were burried in the ground. Inspite of we burn the all the grass plant tha their seed, which are present on the ground, We are not able to harm the seed burried inside the soil. So, in next season all this seed will germinate and grow in the profuse quantities.
In last, the reading passage states that, if we introduse a parasite fungus, which are live on cheatgrass, then we would abble to determinate the growth of cheatgrass. It is also argues that, this fungus is reduces the reproductive ability of grass. On the other hand, orator notes down that, in asia this fingus were grow sing the l000 of years. So, now cheatgrasss had developed some king of resistance over this parasitic fungus. On top of that, this fungus get nutrition from onlt weak and ill plant, because it is easy for the fungus. So, raising of parasitic fungus in the North Amieruica will not be effective sollutions to control the cheatgrass.
