Many believe that the overarching ojective of science should undeniably the improvement of people’s live. I wholeheartedly concur with this notion, as science has the power to revolutionize society, address pressing issues, and enhance the well-being of individuals on a global scale.
First of all, the primary reason why science should prioritize the betterment of people’s lives is its impact on the healthcare. Scientific research led to remarkable breakthroughs in the field of medicine, resulting in the development of live-saving drugs, innovative treatments. For instance, the development of vaccines against the diseases like COVID-19 has saved countless lives and eradicated or significant reduced the ocurrence of these once-debilitating illness. By allocating resources toward medical research, science can continue ease human suffering and enhancing overall health outcomes. From issulin to eyeglasses, medical science has sought to eliminate health problems and this should continue into the future.
Secondly, science plays an crucial role in addressing societal challenges and improving living conditions. Thanks to scientific research in paricular areas such as agriculture, energy, technology, sustainable solutions to ensure food security, and efficient infrastructure can be developed. For example, advancements in agriculture science have led to increased crop yields, combating hunger, and fresh food avaibility for growing populations. Similarly, scientific innovations in renewable energy have potential in solving the climate change and reducing the dependence on fossil fuels to improve the environmental conditions.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that there are many reasons why science advances but mostly for the benefits of people’s living standard. This is because, through advancements in heathcare and contributions to solving global challenges, science has the capacity to bring positive trasformation to our lives
