By 2008 the total population in Atlantis increased by almost twofold form 89 thousand in 1988. Caucasian was always the dominant race throughout that period though the proportion kept a decreasing trend, dropping from 68 percent to below a half percent of the total population.
All other races kept growing rapidly. The second largest group of people in Atlantis was Polynesian. 16 thousand of them lived in Atlantis in 1988 and in 2008 roughly 20 thousands more of them moved to the city, comprising nearly a quarter of the total population. S. E. Asian residence presented a similar growing trend.
