Epstein and Lessig are two author discussing the copy wrights significants but very different ways. Epstein who support the idea of copy writing and Lessig who oppose it. Among that two person point of view I am more keen to the lessig's statement- certain thing we cannot deny to access the sources whether it is for private work or for the public. Here I want to take position in Lessig's statements for the following evidence which I have found from their both passages.
Epstein, says that "John Locke- a great philosopher in 19th century who stated that every society recognize the natural rights of it's citizen". In that way one's property should and must be protected and not limited to their works such as films, songs, artworks and so on. This seems like, everyone work's should get the credit for what they done in their field. So that, they can make some money by limiting other coping it(Epstein). But, when comes to practical point of certain sources are essential for people even without their permission which we cannot avoid by the name of copy writing. For instance, Lessig says- Einstein statement are more significant for the scientific communities those wants to establish further about the Einstein theory and his approach. In this scenario, it is possible to get permission from owner of that statement. So, here the society we will be limited in expanding the knowledge and the skills.
Epstein, states- ("author looking for credit for their works with simple terms like attribution only. But most of them looking for compensation by any means of sources) which is kind embarrassing situation for both the creates and the those wants to use that sources. Lessig argues that even though some time we need personal freedom and property rights like protection for house and cars, and no should not bring the riffle under my desk. Here, It is has good purposes and vision but it cannot be implemented verywhere we want it. For example, "Mature society realizes that value by protecting such resources from both private and public(Lessig).
Eptein says that hounering those created the certain elements is ethic, it is ture, I am not denying it but how to make more protectivity by using that sources. "The Internet is best free re-sources for the innovation and incredible, those whose question about free access: Internet is the best answer for them".(Lessig). In this way free access does not harm anyone event hough giving credit to the author as professional ethic.
To conclude, the free access to sources give more advantages to the society where we live peacefully. When permission is moral and professional ethical, still, certain circumstancess we can signal to the free access to acquire qnd establish our knowledge in great degree.
