Information revolution has changed the way of mass communications and had some negative and positive effects on individual lives as well as on society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
In these days, people often take a variety of viewpoints when it comes to most daily life issues. To give an illustration, while many people believe that the information advancement has changed the way of mass communications and affect individual as well as the society, other holds the opinion that this is not the case. This essay offers some insights in favor of the former outlook.
There are numerous reliable grounds to support the belief that the information revolution has altered the way of mass communications. First and foremost, it is easy to gain access to a huge source of data online with just a few clicks thanks to the advent of the internet and computers. This is true especially for the online newspaper, which provides people with the latest updates instantaneously regarding various topic such as sport, economy and society. Such striking features, however, were not available in the traditional newspaper. Without information revolution, it can be argued that the mass communications would not advance this far and people may not be informed about the world around them.
In addition, ample evidence from a number of studies also supports that the advancement of information has changed the way people communicate. There is no doubt that people can keep in touch with one another regardless of their physical location and distance thanks to the advent of the internet and computers. This is much better as compared to sending letters as in the old days, which takes a great deal of time and is neither reliable nor efficient. To give an illustration, online social network such as Facebook and Yahoo have succeed in connecting thousands of people around the globe, bringing about a lot of positive impact to the individual as well as society.
In conclusion, from the above analysis, it is obvious that the information revolution has resulted in changes in mass communications, which leads to positive impact to the society.
