In the future, nobody will buy printed books or newspapers because they will be able to read everything they want online without paying? To what extent, do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Considering the statement of buying printed newspapers or books on the one hand and reading these materials online without paying, I am strongly inclined to take the side of the latter one. The better availability of online materials and prevention to demolish trees as the main raw source of papers are two chief reasons of my choice. To elaborate more on this topic the following reasons and examples will be presented.
First and foremost, the ease of using online materials is much better than printed ones. People can have access to online materials everywhere with internet access. In addition, the technology advancement provides a deluge of platforms to download and read online materials. The development of new book readers, tablets, etc. facilitates the utilization of online materials compared to printed ones. Furthermore, people can listen to the online context in public areas, during work and even before they want to have a rest. The printed newspapers or books do not provide this option. As a result, the lack of availability of printed materials compared to the online materials persuades people in this direction.
Another primary reason can be attributed to the importance of environmental sustainability and reduction in consumption of trees as the crude materials in papers production. Annually, millions tons of trees are used to produce papers for printed materials. Regarding the critical role of trees in ecosystem of living beings and reduction of air pollution, the over consumption of tress would jeopardize the life on earth. Thus, using and propagation of online materials contribute to the sustainability of the environment.
To recapitulate, the advantages of online materials over printed newspapers and books encourage their utilization in near future. To my best knowledge, currently, the tendency of people to read latest news on their tablets, computers laptops and smart phones is remarkably increased and this would be a perfect evident that in near future, the population who prefer to use the printed materials might significantly disappear.
