Today, under the circumstance of enormous shifts in estates and infrastructure management, the issue of accommodation hunting has been heatedly sparked among home purchasers and renters. The phenomenon is even more remarkable across several countries, where home ownership is given more importance than home renting, which appears as negative from my viewpoint. The essay below will provide several reasons for the high regard to house purchasing, along with giving an insight into the author’s personal perspective.
To begin with, there are two major motivations to prefer to own a home to rent the counterpart, including stability of financial management. While the price for a rented estate or apartment can vary, depending on its owner’s decision, most estates under possession already have their economic values adjusted at the first stage of trading, which can be flexible for customers to set out a clear long-term financial plan to purchase. Along with such a financial benefit, the ownership of a residence building allows households to apply any modifications to their own residence. This appears as contradictory to the case of renting, in which refurbishments or decorations must be qualified by the landlord, given their current incomes to meet the demand. For example, in Vietnam, water purification must be taken into a thorough negotiation with the landlord, to decide the optimal option for any changes to the water system. Based on two given benefits, it is apparent that once obtaining ownership, a household is able to receive flexibility and comfort a rented inhabitance cannot adequately offer.
However, disadvantages from home possession outweigh the provided advantages. One of the drawbacks is low liquidity of a house under ownership, a a great number of estates and constructions cost a great sum of finances to purchase. This means that a household is obliged to allocate a large amount of time to mortgage redemption, abandoning the need to invest into other beneficial sections including education, job prospects. Although not subject to the third individual as the case of renting, the household is synchronously prone to permanent inhabitance within their purchased home, even the living conditions might deteriorate. Due to the agreement on the purchase contract, the possessor is only able to sell their accommodation for rent or move to another area for resident that adds up transportation fees onto the whole finances for settling a new accommodation, unlike renting, in which a person can terminate the rental contract once their demands are inadequately addressed by the landlord. These drawbacks thus reach to the claim that unless being taken into careful consideration, the option to own a home might be not much more favourable than to rent one.
In conclusion, given the analysis above, the reasons for house ownership can be wrapped up to benefits related to economics and flexibility to acquire personal modifications. Notwithstanding the mentioned benefits, the negativity of the situation also can be seen through two major drawbacks pointed out. In the future, as human recognition is highly raised, people will more thoroughly consider over whether to possess or rent a living shelter.
