MANY PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD ARE CHOOSING TO MOVE TO LIVE IN THE CITIES. WHAT PROBLEMS DO PEOPLE EXPERIENCE IN BIG CITIES? SHOULD GOVERNMENTS ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO MOVE TO SMALLER TOWNS?
Most people nowadays are choosing to live and work in big cities since opportunities are much more greater than living in a small town and everything is easily accessible in terms of foods, transportations, and shops. Even though residing in a big city is like living a dream, problems are still experienced. In such case, I agree that government should encourage people to move to smaller towns.
Working and living in a big city is a great opportunity for young adults who want to gain competitive work experience, however, difficult situations ae still encountered. First problem faced is overcrowding, since opportunities lies within the city, more people are moving in it which make it congested. For example, people who studied from a countryside university will transfer to a big city in order to work and gain experience once they graduate. Second problem faced is pollution caused by vehicles for public and private transportation that can lead to serious health problems like Bronchial Asthma, COPD, or some respiratory diseases. Third is the high cost of living where most citizens are unable to save money from their monthly salary due to increased tax and expensive stuffs. Residing in a big city is a bit challenging and sometimes exciting but living in a small town is a way better idea especially for the old people.
Government officials are trying to do their best in order to minimize the problems encountered by the people in the big city and one of the solution they identified is encouraging the people to move to smaller towns. With regards to this, they have my support with their plan but I think it’s better if they will focus on the older people who are retired. In that case, In that case, older people can have a quality time in their home town and can decrease the stress levels since living in a countryside gives relaxing vibes and fresh air. I also think that people who have no jobs or business in the city should be encouraged to just to agriculture or farming in the countryside which can also help in the economy and for their personal lives. In that way, crowd and pollution can be lessened and may benefit everyone in the big city.
Therefore I conclude that one of the common problems people in the big city are experiencing are Crowded places, pollution, traffic and high cost of living but with the plan of the government to encourage people, especially the old ones, to move in smaller towns, they can lessen those problems,
