The pie charts illustrate how languages were affected to British students in the year of 2000 and 2010. It can be clearly seen from the charts that students had more interest in Spanish than others.
In details, in 2000, the most striking figure was the percentage of students who were able to speak Spanish dominated the chart, with approximately 30%. Follow this piece was the amount of students who preferred sticking with English (their mother language), which contributed as nearly 20% of the chart. Pupils who tended ti be keen on French speaking and other languages speaking both had the same amount of participants. German speaking students and those who wanted to explore other languages had the least interest, with only 10% for each group.
Compare to the 2010 pie chart, it cannot be denied that students had more interest in learning Spanish and other language that are not listed, resulted in the 5% and 10% rise, by order. In contrast, the amount of students preferred speaking English and French got a small reduction, approximately 5% each segment. Meanwhile, the fraction in German speaking students remained unchanged.
