The line graph below shows the household recycling rates in three different countries between 2005 and 2015.
The graph illustrates how the rates of the household recycling varied in three different countries over a period of 10 years. It’s obvious to see that the UK and Germany did remarkably on recycling during the period from 2005 to 2015, and the recycling rate in France declined nearly a decade before a rise afterward.
As illustrated by the graph, in France, families did great waste disposal, the household recycling rate was 50% in 2005. Comparing with France, the household recycling rates in other countries were low, UK and Germany were at 20% and 35% respectively. Afterwards, there was noticeable change, the recycling rate in France started to decline year by year; while UK and Germany increased steadily. In France, it dropped slightly and reached the low point, at 30% in 2013, then slowly returned to 40% in 2015. The household recycling rate in UK continuously went up 25% and reached 60% in 2015. Germany had a significant growth of the household recycling rate. There was a triple increase in Germany, from 20% to 60%. Similarly, during 2009 to 2011, both UK and Germany had a dramatic upward trend and rose over 15%.
According to the graph, it can be seen the biggest growth of the household recycling rate is in Germany, which is far ahead of other countries. It could speculate the household recycling rate will grows gradually in the future, which is a basic waste reduction method and easy to be formed a habit from the family.
