The figures reveal the emigration of Britons to 5 countries from 2004 and 3 years later. It is clearly seen that British emigrants preferred Australia compared to other locations. Also, Spain and New Zealand followed the same downward trend over the years while fluctuation was observed in Australia, in the USA and France.
Australia in 2004 had 41 thousand emigrants but this fell by two thousand in 2005. It then considerably rose up to 52 thousand, its highest over the years but was followed by a downfall in the last year with only 43 thousand, a little higher than that of the first period. Nearly the same trend is seen in the USA and France where they started with over 20% but the emigrants in the usa fell in 2005 with only 18 thousand while france reached it peaked at 35 thousand. In 2006, the usa was back to over 20 thousand and France plummeted to 25 thousand. At the end of the period both countries had a little under 20 thousand emigrants.
On the other hand, Spain and New zealand started with higher numbers of emigrants with 35 thousand and 25 thousand respectively, but as the years went by a decrease by 2 to 3 thousand was noticed.
