Both the reading passage and the article discuss the Iraqi archaeologist who gained a set of clay jars. The villagers who found these jars two years early during construction a railroad. The passage argues that these jars might be a likely as a vessel used for electrical production in the ancient time. While the professor encounters this by telling that these vessels similar to the batteries using now a day. However, the reading claims the utilization of these vessels as a battery. But the professor points out as follows.
First, the article avers that however, the vessels look like a battery because it contains copper cylinder surrounding an iron rod. But there is no evidence about a wire used to conduct the electricity. The lecture casts doubt on this point by explaining that the people who found these jars might be not recognized the cable because they are not professionals archaeologist. And they could saw the wire and throw away because they think it is useless.
Second, the article asserts that the copper cylinder inside the jars similar to that one discovered in the Seleucia. And this cylinder used for scrod. The speaker states that it is true, but not prove anything and it is possible to use the copper cylinder for holding scrolls. And and in ancient cities found that when the iron rode surrounded by cooper cylinder is used as a battery. It means may be first use for something but then adapted to apply for another.
Third, the reading claims the using of there vessels to generate electricity is not true because there is no device to use this electricity at that time. Conversely, the professor mentions that the electricity used for another thing like making magic or healing. For example, the generation of electricity produces an invisible power that caused tickling or shock. Beside, he says the electricity now use in healing by reducing the pain in muscles.
