The diagram illustrates the procedure used to recycle plastic bottles. Overall, it is clear that there are eight stages, beginning with segregation and ending with formation of pellets. The process has three main phases, namely plastic classification, bales compression and flakes processing.
The first stage of the process is put the plastic bottles in recycling center where it is segregated from bottles which differs from other kinds of containers made up of different materials. The next stage is to classify by corresponding colour it belongs to. Then the bottle is compressed into bales which are about 7000 bottles per unit. Subsequently, the bottles are transmitted by a recycle lorry which followed up to reclaimer. It is the place where the bales are broken by a breaker and immediately, the plastic is teared into pieces of flakes. After the mixture has been rinsed and dried thoroughly, they are melted, which is then placed into extruder. The pellets are then formed, which is sold to manufacturing industries to be used for a number of products, such as carpets, clothes, and containers.
