The chart illustrates the figure of travellers to Britain who experienced four attractions in Brighton. At first look, it is clear that the number of tourists going to art gallery and pavilion showed a wave-like movement whereas those of pier and festival experienced a period of stability.
In the initial stage, festival was the most preferred attraction accounting for 30% of tourists. Following was pavilion and art gallery with a-quarter and a-forth respectively. In 1995, the percentage of people visiting pavilion rose dramatically with the number of almost 50%, exceeding that of festival. However, after reached its peak, the figure of pavilion showed a sudden decline, to a negligible number of around 30% in 2000.
After a period of 10 years, in 2010, the proportion of pavilion visitors had a gradual fall but it still remained the most favorable place. The number of people coming to art gallery experienced a shrinkage and became the least popular attraction while that of pier visitor skyrocketed to more than 20%.
