The reading passage and the lecture both discuss three possible solutions to rescue the frog population. In the recent years, the frog population starts to reduce, and this retrogradation is due to environmental intimidation. Moreover, these frog feed on harmful insects that can kill the human. So, we have to find ways to prevent them from eradication. The reading argues three solutions to control the extinction of the frogs. The speaker cast doubt on these solutions.
The first solution, the author states that prohibiting the use of pesticides by the farm. Because of these pesticides reach the frog's habitat and kill them. The speaker claims that pint by explaining that prevent the farmers from utilizing pesticides are impossible. Besides, farmers use these pesticides to overcome the spread out of diseases between plants. And they get perfect vegetables or fruits so they could compete with other farmers. If the government restricts using the pesticides in the area where the frags are living, the farmers are negatively influenced.
The second solutions, the reading states that treating fungus that killed the frogs. The professor stats that the treatment of the frags from the fungus is a costly and complicated way to protect frags. Because the infected frag can affect the healthy one, so we have to treat each one individually.
The third solution, the author points out the wetland habitat of the frog where they are putting their eggs. And this can do by the human regulating the extra use of water. The professor claims that by telling we can not prevent the people from using water and the causes of danger on the wetland habitat are not decrease of water in that land but due to global warming. And the climate changes are the real causes of homeland destruction of the frog eggs.
