You are studying for a qualification, and you would like some time off work to complete it.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
.Ask for some time off to complete a qualification.
.Suggest what you will do later at work if you have time off.
.Say how the qualification helps your job or company.
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to request you two weeks off from work to enable me have a good time for review before the exam date.
I have enrolled in a post-graduation studies in the water and waste water management subject, and the final exam is scheduled after two weeks. When I received the university notification, I applied for a formal leave request and submitted to the administration for further process. The leave is only for two weeks as a preparation period before attending the test.
During my leave, a lot of tasks will be pending; hence, I will do some internal arrangement with my colleagues to clear it. Two shifts can be implemented, and I can attend both shifts to catch up the normal progress. I would also suggest that I stay extended hours at work, if the work-load requires.
There are several reasons for choosing the water treatment course, but the main one is its beneficial to the company's business. The course develops my technical knowledge and enhance my managerial skills which are the core of my job description. We can use the certificate in our company's proposals to boost our team qualification in any future tender.
I look forward to receiving my leave application approved.
Yours sincerely,
Ayoub
