The pie charts provide information regarding the population by age group in Europe over 80 year period and the projection for year 2021.
Overall, it can be noticeably seen that the number of elder people, ages 65 and above, increased substantially over time as the population inflate as well. The same trend is also foreseen in the near future.
To begin with, there is a significant increase in population between 1901 and 1941 with the data showing 38,225,000 and 52,335,000 respectively. Despite of these rise in figure, the percentage of human population below 65 remained the same at 95%, between 65-85 at 4% and, 85 and above at only 1%. The data changed eventually in year 1981 ,with a population that slighty climbed up to 67,180,000, Europeans below the age of 65 dropped to 83%, those with the age ranging from 65-85 at 13% and finally, those who's age is morethan 85 is at 4%.
It is estimated in the future, in year 2021, that the population will continue to rise reaching 87,658,000. The number of people, as projected, will consist of 79% at the age ranging from 0-65, 15% for 65-85 years old and lastly, 6% for 85 years old and older.
