Dear John,
Hope this letter finds yo in good health and spirits. It feels great to receive an invitation from your end to come and stay with you in your native country. Therefore, I would like you to equip me with some information.
Firstly, in an endevor to make this journey more beautiful and memorable, kindly suggest a present for your family which I can get from my domestic country. Something which they longed to possess. It will be an honor for me to give them something of their choice.
Moreover, as this is the first time I would be coming to New York and I do not have any other relative/acquaintance, kindly tell me what kind of clothes should I carry? As I forsee, it would be bitter cold there, in that case, should i get pullovers and jackets or more heavy woolens. Please let me know the same as I do not want to overload my baggage with unnecessary stuff.
Another area of my interest is to know what events and festivals are prominent at your place. In addition, I would like to see some shows and exhibitions in your vicinity. Last but not the least, as I am a vegetarian, what are the food options available for me? Do i need to carry some packed/ready to cook food?
I would be really glad if you could furnish me with the aforementioned details. Eagerly looking forward for your prompt reply and thereafter meeting you in person.
Kind regards,
Nick
